I am trying to find the right words to tell you what finding my name on the Moondance finalist list means to me. I almost didn't submit my screenplay. I had had it critiqued by a Hollywood "expert" who completely trashed it. I mean, I already knew it was over the top, but I was having so much fun writing it... He took all the joy out of the process. After that, I only let my husband and my babysitter read it (the babysitter liked it). In the meantime I had sent you a couple inquiries about Moondance, and your responses were so gracious and encouraging and funny - girl, you are a class act! They cheered me up so much. Even so, I almost didn't enter because I thought, boy, she's going to be sorry she was nice to me, this screenplay is so awful! But I decided I'd come this far, so I sent it off, then put it out of my mind and moved on with my life. Until today, when I got the Moondance announcement!
